Every great journey begins with a single step. Or in this case, a single blog entry. What follows is my attempt to change a lifelong battle with my weight, which until now has consisted of yo-yo and fad dieting, overeating, emotional eating, stress eating and under-exercising. Let the great experiment begin.
My goals for this blog, and the next 12 weeks are as follows:
-Blog daily, at least my eating and exercise habits
-Don't weigh myself
-Exercise 5 to 7 days a week
-Feed myself and my family a healthy whole-food, plant-based diet while maintaining our budget

Whether anyone reads this or not, I am committing to 12 weeks of doing things differently than I have before. Sticking with it. No fad diets. No extreme changes to my lifestyle. Working out consistently. Not blowing the budget. Not weighing myself. Going to God instead of the pantry.

Southwestern Vegetable Soup
2 cans green chiles
1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes
1/2 c. sliced jalapenos
4 cans chicken broth
1 celery stalk
1 T. garlic
1 small onion
1 can black beans
2 bay leaves
1 t. each of salt, pepper, chile powder, chile pequin powder, onion powder, cayenne powder, mexican oregano
Add all to the crockpot and cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Delicious!
